Persistence

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, 'press on' has solved, and always will solve, the problems of the human race." Calvin Coolidge

  1. In 'Eat, Pray, Love' (Elizabeth Gilbert) the author said her guru told her 'that you should never give yourself a chance to fall apart because, when you do, it becomes a tendency and it happens over and over again. You must practice staying strong instead.' This seems impossible sometimes in life when things are thrown at us from nowhere. Do you agree or disagree with the above guru's advice?

  2. I can see how that makes sense so I suppose I somewhat agree. It might work for some people. But for me, I find it's best to feel the feelings, even if I fall apart for a while but recognise that the feeling will pass, as everything in this life does. Then I pick myself up again, raise my vibrations by surrounding myself with beauty and love and then I practice persistence in my quest for peace of mind! I hope this makes sense. Of course a little glass of vino as a treat helps too!
